The Brief

Design an exhibition catalogue based on a previously written second year essay.

This project built on previous typographic experience to design an exhibition catalogue for an essay written in second year. Designs used a simple grid combined with textual and visual content to create a catalogue which reflected a clear understanding of the subject material. The essay I chose was based on Bauhaus type.

My catalogue was titled “shape, colour, direction: elements of bauhaus type”. In it, I focused on elements of Bauhaus typography and how it is still used today. Through the use of Bauhaus posters, I was able to create a visual language of lines, shapes and colour to enhance my design.
