The Brief

Create and implement identity for an embroiderers association.

For this project I was asked to design a logo for the Dublin Embroiderers Association, a sewing group who meets once a month in Dundrum, and apply its design onto busines and membership cards.

What this group was looking for was a logo which incorporated some aspect of the sewing world – scissors, needles, thread, bobbins, sewing machine. So I went off to research aspects of the sewing world, along with how other craft groups/shops represented themselves before I started drawing and digitising the logo and putting it with type. The final logo of the stork scissors was quickly chosen, along with it’s red colour and applied to business and membership cards.
